The Helen Gurley Brown quotation felt just right for this vintage card touting a local rest stop. I sent it to Mrpotani, but it seems to have been lost in the mail.

altered dutch sheep

A Dutch postcrosser got a kick altering this "real Dutch sheep" with the addition of Dutch tulips, ocean view, and flags.

Baseball Cards

First full day back in the studio I didn't feel like getting back into my paintings. Instead I made a series of 6 postcards on Japanese ballplayers. From top to bottom: Ichiro, Matsuzaka and Darvish. The cards in the left column are painted with watercolors and coated with fine glitter; those in the right column are watercolored and overlaid with hairnet.

about-to-be-altered card

A couple of Dutch postcrossers, one of whom works in a hospital, sent this clever postcard. All of the design elements peel off to turn your mouse into an ambulance. On the back of the card, the couple attached a mini-photo of a wren they sighted on a walk the day they sent the card. A red letter day for me.

panda, baby

Mrpotani took an outsized tag on a t-shirt and added panda stickers to make this twice-altered card.
