What a treat! Jana, an 18-year-old rock fan from Germany, made this card, the perfect pick-me-up on a cold, wet day. She joined postcrossing about a week ago. Thanks, Jana!

Swedish postcrosser Catarina, aka Catwoman, sent this card and cool stamps, plus the cat sticker. The view looks like a toy town but it's real. The yellow flatiron building, writes Catwoman, is now a museum.

horse drawn funerals

I picked this postcard up at the Lehigh County Historical Society Heritage Museum. It advertises a company in New Tripoli that offers horse drawn funerals. I've got a friend who likes cemeteries and maybe she'll like this card as well.

2008 pennant

I watched the 2008 World Series pennant hoisted for the first time at the celebration ceremony at Citizens Bank Park on Friday. It was awesome. Not the sharpest image but I had to make it into a postcard.

pat and elvis

I made this postcard for the people I know who are fans of Pat Burrell, here leading all players at the celebration ceremony Friday at Citizens Bank Park. Burrell is with Elvis, his English bulldog and a fixture at the park. Pat, a quintessential Philadelphia player, is now a free agent and, alas, unlikely to end his career in the city he loves and that loves him. In any case, thanks for the memories!

Slovak postcrosser Julia sent this handmade card from Presov, in eastern Slovakia, where she studies at university. She made the card from a calendar. I can dig that as I often use calendars to make cards. Please note the striking stamp as well.
