I made this homage to Uchida Kahoko, who recently retired from her post office job, specifically from what was my local p.o. in the Ayaori section of Tono. Many years ago, Uchida gave me an unwitting introduction to mail art. In spare time, she would turn old Japan Post flyers, posters, and such into tiny envelopes. For years, the Ayaori post office was an absolute lifeline for me---and one of my favorite places in Japan. Uchida was very much a part of that. I hope she 'gets' the card.
