almada, city of theater

A young Portuguese postcrosser named Joao who studies theater sent this postcard from his native town of Almada, for 500 years a stronghold of theater in his country. He wrties that Gil Vicente, the father of Portuguese theater, was born in Almada. The card shows the Center of Contemporary Art, with Lisbon in the background. Joao takes studies theater at the center.
