An enigmatic card by artist Aron Meynell. Other than the butterfly, the objects are difficult to identify. The long piece looks like a wooden femur. And the lump on the side, an unraveled tennis ball. That's just my imagination speaking.
In the Chinese zodiac, the dragon is revered as a sacred beast and signifies good fortune and power. 2012 is the year of the Water Dragon, which means its fiery emotions are somewhat tempered. In Western mythology, the dragon signifies maleovolence, a beast that needs to be conquered and slain.
What will your interpretation of this winged creature be? I await your postcard: Altered, unaltered or original mail art. Send to P. Otani, P.O. Box 31112, San Francisco, CA 94131.
This blog was shared with my good friend Jacqueline. Sadly, she passed away on October 21, 2011. Little Red Mail Box lives on to honor our friendship and mutual love of sending and receiving mail.
