Years ago Priscilla gave me a collection of postcards from Fantasy in the Industrial Revolution, from a show of dolls and toys at the Craft and Folk Art Museum in Los Angeles. This pedlar doll is one of my favorites. It's based on Mary Callinack, a hawker and walker who in 1851, at age 85, walked from Cornwall to London for the Great Exhibition.
